the popular children's game "Rock, Paper, Scissors" or Quick Draw as
it is called in the video. While this is not a talking game, this is a
good way to break the ice with new people.
1) The MandM Game: Grab a big bag of M&Ms or other multi-colored
candy. Every color is its own category of personal detail. Hand out
random M&ms to the group and go around letting people say something
about themselves that has to do with the category assigned to the
color.
2) The Place/Celebrity Game: This can be done with either names of
places or celebrity names. Go around the room. Start off by saying a
name; if you are playing the place game, say the name of a random
place, if you are playing the celebrity game, say the name of a random
celebrity. The person that goes next has to name a place or celebrity
whose name begins with the last letter of the place or celebrity you
named. For example, if you say Brad Pitt the next person would have to
say a celebrity whose name begins with T, like Tyra Banks and so on.
3) I am: Go around the room and ask every person to say an adjective
that describes them, but the adjective has to begin with the first
initial of their name. For example, Crazy Carl or Depressing Dave.
4) The Toilet Paper game: Hand around a roll of toilet paper and tell
everyone to grab as many squares as they want, just do not tell them
what it is for. Once everyone has taken a number of squares, announce
that each person has so say one thing about themselves for every
square they have.
I have a little list that I think is good for small get togethers where you need to break the early-party-gitters and start having fun.
The first game is: Donkey.
You need a deck of Donkey cards for this game it is a no-brainer. The deck has cards from 1-20 and a donkey card.
